FILA sponsored athlete Sam Querrey, continues to give back to the community as the face of FILA’s Junior Tennis Mentor Program, which aims to inspire the next generation of tennis players by connecting them with professional athletes. Fresh off of his win at the 2017 Mexican Open, Querrey, a former US junior standout, hosted a tennis clinic with FILA on the Indian Wells Tennis Garden practice courts.
Particpants from three different NJTL chapters were in attendance, ranging in age from 10-14. The event provided a memorable learning experience for the kids and an opportunity to play with an ATP World Tour pro on the practice courts at the BNP Paribas Open. Querrey interacted with the participants as he asnwered their questions and offered tips about the game, on-court advice and life on the tour. The Q&A session was followed by a tennis clinic, where participants were able to refine their skills with Indian Wells Tennis Garden teaching pros, and play alongside Sam.
