Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi fall/winter 19-20 will take place from 2 to
6 May 2019 in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi and will demonstrate innovative
fashion scene with a new generation of designers, stylists, performancers and
artists, coming to the forefront.
During the five days, the platform will showcase 46 designers and host more than
100 international guests from around the globe. Designers and brand are expected
to present their new collections. Shows, exhibitions, performances will take place
in the Georgian Museum of Fine Arts for the second time and traditionally in

focus on innovative Georgian Fashion and Art scene.
The tenth anniversary of the “Mercedes-Benz International Designer Exchange
Program” (IDEP) is marked by a new name; “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talents”
which sees the program extend to support more talent from creative industries.
IDEP aimed promoting emerging talent in the world of fashion. The objective
was to support a series of talented young designers as they embarked on their
careers in fashion both locally, within their home market and globally. Over the
last ten years, Mercedes-Benz has given more than 90 designers an opportunity
to stage a show on one of around 30 platforms.
As a means to elevate the program and increase the type and the amount of support being provided, the scheme is being extended to include talent from a variety of creative industries.In celebration of this and the tenth anniversary, the program will be renamed to
“Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talents”.
Mercedes-Benz invited designer Amesh Wijesekera from Sri Lanka to present his
autumn/winter 2019 collection. The show was p,art of the Mercedes-Benz
International Designer Exchange Program.
24 years of Mercedes-Benz fashion activities
Over 24 years Mercedes-Benz has established itself worldwide as a major player
in the fashion industry and title sponsor of selected fashion weeks and events.
The brand is currently active at 80 fashion events in over 40 countries, including
the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks in Sydney, Mexico City, Madrid, Tbilisi and
Berlin as well as the renowned International Festival of Fashion, Photography
and Fashion Accessories in Hyères. In addition to this, Mercedes-Benz has been
a member of the Fashion Council Germany (FCG) since 2017 and a member of
the German Fashion Designers Federation e.V. (GFDF) since 2018.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi will be held with the support of
the Ministry of Culture and Sport of Georgian, the Ministry of Economy and
Sustainable Development, the National Tourism Administration, and the Agency
for Entrepreneurship Development of Georgia.
